Training
Empathy for horses and a strong work ethic are the characteristics ingrained in Ahna Phelps over the 40 years that she has been involved with horses.
Ahna holds a Bachelor's Degree in Equestrian Studies from Virginia Intermont College, as well as a Master's Degree in Equestrian Education. Hands on education experiences have included clinics with top trainers such as George Morris, Frank Madden, Sandy Ferrell, and Bernie Trauring. Ahna also became a USHJA Certified Instructor in 2017, and was one of the few certified instructors in the Pittsburgh area.
Developing True Partnerships
Ahna feels that there is nothing more rewarding than taking the time to develop a true partnership with your horse and then having that partnership pay off with success in the show ring. For the last 25 years, Ahna has developed partnerships that compete in the top levels of Hunter/ Jumper competitions.
Cornerstone riders regularly bring home Champion and Reserve honors from such shows as Kentucky, World Equestrian Center, Brave Horse, Swan Lake, and Chagrin Valley to name a few. Students have qualified for prestigious events including Junior Hunter Finals, Harrisburg, Zone Finals, and all major Equitation Finals.
